Skeleton Key

Skeleton Key is a jam game that was created for Ludum Dare 43. The theme of LD43 was "Sacrifices must be made." After some late night brainstorming amongst our group, we settled on the idea of controlling a skeleton who had to sacrifice their limbs to progress through the level.

I was responsible for:

  • Pitching the idea for Skeleton Key, assisting with brainstorming for mechanics that would be featured in the game

  • Designed and developed the game's third level, with a focus on building an engaging puzzle where players would have to sacrifice their limbs in a specific order to proceed

  • Modelling half of the 3D assets found in game

  • Also had a bit of musical fun, creating the main menu music

I am most proud that the game came in at a solid 122nd out of 1750 games in the Theme category. There are definite improvements that could be made, but not bad for our first Ludum Dare, and it was definitely a motivator for future jams.
